Scott from the Ironworker in Pointe Au Baril asked TC Inspector Brian Kennedy to run an information session in Pointe Au Baril in the same format as the Port Severn and Parry Sound ones of 2 months or so ago.
Armin Grigatis and I went as representatives of our Small Commercial Vessel Association.
Brian very kindly worked us into his presentation and allowed us to talk about the Assoc. and its goals to the operators present. There were around 35 people there which is impressive for 10am on a Tuesday in the spring when everyone needs to work!
They were all very receptive to our information but it was frightening, once again, to find out that these good people know literally NOTHING about these issues and are operating their businesses illegally without knowing it!!
These operators are wide open to bankruptcy and jail time trying to make a living as they have always done with no knowledge that laws are now in force making their current operations illegal!
We have to do more about this unacceptable situation!!
