Armin and I were at the Pointe Au Baril meeting yesterday with Transport Canada Inspector Brian
Kennedy. He told us that TC has a revised proposal in for CMAC Ottawa on April 23rd to allow small
commercial vessel operators to use a normal PFD as long as they WEAR it! This will reverse the current regulations that demand the higher standard of Life Jacket.
What a brilliant idea TC, radical thinking, only took since 2007 to come up with!!
SO DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY YET! Which you probably can't anyway cause
there's no Life Jackets left...
I had Ben Hatherley from Gordon Bay Marine start searching for
a container load to bring in so Assoc. members could all get a good price. That was a month ago. He told
me 2 days ago that Ontario is out of them and the suppliers say they will be unavailable till next spring! I
asked him for a copy of the suppliers email to present to CMAC in Ottawa next week!!
Big Government doing things backwards...for a change!! And the guy trying to make a living, pay taxes and employ people loses, again!
